The Southampton Chamber of Commerce has coordinated another biannual Sidewalk Sale. This year the theme is Shop, Savor, and Stay in Southampton. The dates are April 22nd and April 23rd which coincides with Earth Day weekend, when the Southampton Arts Center will have many Earth Day Events.
On Saturday, April 22nd, the Southampton Arts Center will unveil the Whale Tail Sculpture Project by North Fork artist Cindy Pease Roe and the public is also invited to stop by to place a message in a bottle, and where their secret wishes will be embedded inside the whale tail forever. The Southampton Arts Center also has a special Earth Day event on April 22nd rom 2pm-5pm. Tesla will be there, as well as representatives from Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program’s Fisheries Team with children’s activities. Guests can also stop by the Perfect Earth Project table to make and decorate a native “bee hotel” using upcycled and natural materials. Refreshments will be provided by Union Cantina and Matcha Bar. In addition to coordinating retailers to participate in the Sidewalk Sale, the Southampton Chamber of Commerce has encouraged food establishments to offer specials. 27 Hampton Salon, Besim’s Fine Cigars, Calypso, Chico’s, Christopher Fischer, Dazzelle, Egg by Susan Lazar, Flying Point Surf and Sport, J Crew, Jill Lynn Jewelry, Juja Activewear, Main Street Optics, Roberta Roller Rabbit, Southampton United Methodist Church, Stevenson’s Toys and Games, Stitch, Topiaire Candy Shop, Topiaire Flower Shop, Twist, White’s Apothecary, Xanadu, and Xanadu Kids are all participating, as well as The Golden Pear Cafe and Southampton Publick House.
