History

Preserves and promotes the shared history & culture of greater Southampton, NY. Established in 1898 and incorporated in 1910,we currently operate 4 separate heritage sites, featuring 14 historic structures with changing exhibitions, an archives and research center, as well as educational programs for school children, families, and adults.

Our diverse programs are made possible, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and by local taxpayers of Southampton Union Free School District .

Southampton History Museum is headquartered at Rogers Mansion, where we maintain an Archives & Research Center dedicated to the history of greater Southampton. Our resources currently comprise over 8,000 volumes, photographs, maps and more on a wide range of subjects from account books to family memorabilia.

Hours of Operation Rogers Mansion - March to December, Wednesday to Saturday, 11am to 4pm, $10 for adults, free for children under 17 and members Halsey House & Garden - Halsey House is closed for restoration; Halsey Garden is open year round, Sunrise to Sunset, Free admission Pelletreau Silver Shop - Open year round, Wednesday to Monday, 11am to 6pm, Closed on Tuesdays, Free admission Conscience Point - Open year round, Sunrise to Sunset, Free admission All are subject to closure during Holidays
