Southampton Playhouse Presents: Young Frankenstein

As the legendary Mel Brooks turns 100, celebrate the funniest movie parody of the 20th century, a black-and-white riff on classic Universal monster movies that gives Gene Hackman one of his most memorable roles. Loaded with hilarious one-liners (“That’s FrankenSTEEN!”) and a kooky atmosphere that doubles as a love letter to the era it sends up, Brooks’ audacious comedy follows a neuroscientist to old Europe where his plan to reanimate dead tissue leads to…well, some sillier results than any other Frankenstein version out there.
